It was Sellers' last dramatic appearance and one for which he received an Academy Award nomination. After suffering a mild heart attack during the filming of A Shot In The Dark, Sellers was plagued with heart problems. In 1980, at the age of 54, Peter Sellers passed away. His Pink Panther performances remain a lasting monument to his comedic genius.
